Acupuncture
An acupuncture appointment includes the full compliment of Chinese medicine and can treat any condition treatable with Chinese medicine. In an hour-long session your practitioner combines acupuncture with other techniques including moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, tuina, craniosacral, nutritional and lifestyle recommendations to best meet your needs.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a hands-on, relaxing and therapeutic modality. The focus of a treatment is to release muscle tension. Treatments can be full-body or focusing on one or two problem areas. Massage is usually done with the client unclothed and securely draped with a sheet.
Reflexology
Reflexology addresses the entire body by working exclusively on the feet. By breaking up restrictions in the feet, the corresponding part of the body receives improved blood flow and comfort.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses a variety of techniques to access the subconscious. A typical session includes discussing with your therapist what you would like to address such as stopping destructive habits, improving athletic performance, decreasing pain, meeting goals, etc. Then, with the help of the therapist you enter into a light trance state during which the therapist guides you with words and imagery to make changes at the subconscious level.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on modality involving light touch, often on the head but can be anywhere on the body. The aim is to optimize the subtle fluid movements of the bones and soft tissues of the body. Receiving craniosacral therapy is deeply relaxing. It can be a stand-alone treatment or craniosacral can be incorporated into massage or acupuncture.
Ear acupuncture
The ear acupuncture offered at Flow is a protocol of 5 points on the ear. This is done by our Acudetox Specialists and our Acupuncturists. Stimulation of these particular 5 points on the ear, sometimes referred to as Acudetox, supports detoxification, recovery from substance abuse, and trauma. The treatment is also deeply relaxing and provides overall mental/emotional balance while supporting organ function.
Dietetics
Dietetics is the field of food: what you eat and how your body responds to having too much or not enough of what it needs. In our various dietetics offerings at Flow we'll help you understand and meet your individual needs based on your health concerns, energy needs, personal preferences and more. There is no such thing as a perfect "one-size-fits-all" food plan. We take your budget, schedule, family and social needs into account and make engaging in new healthy, sustainable habits around food fun and easy.
Tui Na
Tui Na is the hands-on modality of Chinese medicine. The treatment is done on a massage table. The client usually remains clothed unless cupping or moxa are to be incorporated. In these cases some clothing may need to be removed to provide the practitioner direct access to the client's skin. Tui Na can be full-body with a focus on relaxation, or can focused on one or two areas of concern.
